Becoming a Judge

Self-nominations to become a judge for The Awards 2024 are closed.

Submitting Work

The submission window for The Awards 2024 runs from April 1 – May 31, 2024. Submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • Published between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024
  • Have an English version available
  • Have a digital version (.pdf, .epub, .doc, etc.)
  • Be your own work (or submitted with the express permission of the owner)

This year, you are limited to up to 3 submissions OR 50 pages of material, whichever you reach first. The judges are not obligated to read more than 50 pages from a single submitter, so while you may submit a single piece (or combination of pieces) that has more than 50 pages, it is not guaranteed that the judges will read all of your submission(s).

This restriction is to respect the time of our judges, who are volunteering for this responsibility on top of their already busy lives, and to keep the workload manageable overall.

To submit material to The Awards 2024, email theawards.games@gmail.com with the subject “Submission for The Awards 2024.” The email should contain the following:

  • Titles of all submissions
  • Date each submission was released
  • Page count for each submission
  • Type of material (system, adventure, bestiary, supplement, etc.)
  • All relevant digital files (or a link to a Google Drive/Dropbox/Box folder containing the files)
  • A name for our 2024 mascot (completely optional)

When submitting, please also consider the accessibility of your material. Properly tag digital files for screenreaders and provide alternative versions of your material if you have them (plaintext files, high/low contrast, colorblind-friendly, audiobooks, transcripts, etc.). These will not count toward your page restriction.
